The Duluth Tribune is reporting that AFSCME Executive Director John Westmoreland is suspended! The article goes on to say that he is suspended for "unspecified reasons." Has to be serious for the top dog to be suspended.  It brings up the fact AFSCME is a major player in Democratic politics. AFSCME, like their Teamster counterparts (Brian Aldes and Democratic Socialist Gus Froemke ) back the likes of Ilhan Omar, Keith Ellison and Gov. Tim Walz. It will be interesting to see if more Union leaders are caught in the net. From corrupt Union leaders, to their support of corrupt politicians, no wonder members are opting out of Public Sector Unions in droves! This is AFSCME Council 5 showing their support for Rep. Ilhan Omar. Union members have some of the best health care plans in the country. Ilhan Omar is a champion of Medicare for All. Medicare for All will eliminate EVERY Union negotiated healthcare plan in the country. If Ilhan Omar and her 'squad' get their way there will be very little reason left to be in a Union. Union members will have greatly reduced benefits. Of course AFSCME will not be lowering their dues or employers increasing wages. Nope, AFSCME will collect the same money and the employer will get a big boost by all the negotiated Healthcare plans they will no longer have to fund. Still losing Recently three more Minnesota Public Employee groups decertified Teamsters Local 320 and voted to be represented by LELS . Those groups are Blue Earth County Dispatchers , Wadena County Jail/Dispatchers and Pope County essential employees. Bonus question. What is the total number of votes Teamsters Local 320 received in all three elections combined? Answer: Zero! Keep it radical Gus and Martin. Word on the street is a major change is coming with the AFSCME State Correctional Employees.

I am shocked beyond belief.  Fox News is reporting that,   "Despite the landmark Supreme Court ruling this summer barring public-sector unions from requiring nonmembers to pay so-called agency fees, workers in several states say unions are either flat-out ignoring the decision or establishing a frustrating maze of procedural roadblocks to avoid compliance." Rather then adhering to the Supreme Court decision in Janus v AFSCME that said Public Employees cannot be compelled to pay Fair Share Dues, they apparently think they can resist.  For over 200 years a Supreme Court decision was final law. But these Unions are like a cancer. You think they are under control and they just metastasize! SEIU and AFSCME (that directly lost) are now illegally making windows where people can withdraw at a future date. So I'm watching the news , when suddenly I see Tim Henderson of AFSCME Council 5 supporting Stillwater Corrections Officers desire for more cameras and staff in the once again reopened industry area at Stillwater MCF! That's funny, in a pathetic way. While Stillwater prison CO's were asking for more staff before, where was AFSCME? Supporting Black Lives Matter  protesting law enforcement instead. When staff complained about the increase in inmate on staff assaults where was AFSCME? Backing the policy of letting inmates out of segregation early for "inmate mental health." For years AFSCME, SEIU and Teamsters have been more concerned with funneling money to Democratic politicians then supporting members. This Labor Day keep in mind the old DFL, (Democratic, Farmer, Labor) Party has abandoned Labor. Most Americans work to support their families and increase their standard of living. For years Minnesota's DFL Party claimed to be the champions of the blue collar worker.  No more. Governor Dayton has shown the hand of the entire party. Do not forget as we hit the election season that Governor Dayton vetoed the Tax Conformity Bill last session. This means while most of the country benefits from President Trump's tax cuts, many Minnesotans won't! According to the Duluth Tribune , "An estimated 800,000 Minnesotans are expected to end up paying up to $850 million in extra taxes."  Nationally many Democrats are running on repealing tax cuts and increasing taxes. In Minnesota the Democratic Governor made sure they get more of your money. So what used to be the DFL Party is now just the DF (Deaf) Party. Deaf to your desire to keep your own money! You would think in light of the Janus decision, which allows public employees to quit their unions, those unions would at least try to serve their members. But no, too many decades of ignoring members for politicians apparently can't be stopped. The AFLCIO just endorsed Keith Ellison for Minnesota Attorney General. Even though thousands of AFLCIO members work as Corrections Officers and Police, they chose to endorse a candidate that is anti-law enforcement and an abuser of women, which last time I checked about half of the AFLCIO are women! The good news is, as members quit their public employee unions the endorsement means less and less. Why? Because very soon there will be no money to give the candidates!

I've been watching all of the latest Antifa violence taking place in Charlotte. Hundreds of Antifa protestors reacting to about 20 white supremacist. Attacking police and even the press. There's video of NBC reporters being assaulted . What does this have to do with Keith Ellison? Well, here he is posing with the Antifa Handbook, giving them the green light for violence against police and free speech. Funny, an Attorney General should be all about Law Enforcement. Maybe Keith misread the job description. I'll say a lot of things about Keith Ellison, but I have to admit he does walk the walk. He espouses violence and practices it too. Just ask his last girlfriend and her son.

The United States Supreme Court has ruled in Janus v AFSCME that Public Employees cannot be forced to be members of Public Employee Unions or forced to pay 'Fair Share' dues. Because of Union support of political candidates and issues, the U.S. Supreme Court has decided it is a violation of the 1st Amendment to force members to support political speech they may not condone. This post is not an endorsement or unendorsement of Janus, just a statement of the facts of law. There has been a lot misinformation about how to leave your Union. You DO NOT have to notify your Union. All that need be done is to notify your employer, usually just payroll, that you no longer wish to have Union dues withdrawn from your paycheck. So if you chose not to pay dues any longer, you now know the simple process. If you chose to continue. Nothing need be done.

Yesterday was the funeral of slain Stillwater Prison Corrections Officer Joseph Gomm. The 16 year employee was beat to death by an inmate doing his job. His job, and that of all Corrections Officers, is to protect society from people who have been deemed too dangerous to walk among us. Joseph Gomm, as all CO's at Stillwater Prison are, was a  member of the AFSCME Union. AFSCME's job is to represent the CO's. We know where Joseph Gomm was, w here was AFSCME? Where was AFSCME when Stillwater CO's were complaining about staffing cuts ? AFSCME was writing letters to the House of Representatives protesting enforcement of Immigration laws! Where was AFSCME when the Stillwater CO's were complaining about  violent inmates being released early from segregation ?
