What used to come to mind when you thought of Minnesota?  Garrison Keillor's Prairie Home Companion and Lake Wobegon? People of Scandinavian descent who spoke with an accent like in the movie Fargo? Honest politicians like Hubert Humphrey and Fritz Mondale? People going to their local Church on Sunday and eating hot dish afterwards? If that's still your idea of Minnesota, think again! Gone is Lake Wobegon. It's been replaced by Little Mogadishu !  The Lutheran Church quit serving hot dish and began serving up tens of thousands of Somali refugees instead. Thank you Lutheran Social Services (LSS). It's brought with them stabbings at malls and arson at Colleges . But some did come here to earn money, unfortunately they did it by defrauding taxpayers with phony daycare scams and sending the money to terrorists in Somalia.  But at least Minnesotans' are still socially conscious. They used to join the Peace Corps, but now they join Isis and Al Shabab . ...

Gus Froemke The economy is the best it's been in years. Tax cuts have resulted in the highest employment in 50 years, the first actual increase in worker pay (2.9%) for over a decade and less taxes being taken from workers checks. The mines are not only open, but expanding in Northern Minnesota and so many people are now buying houses that there's not enough! But lurking around the corner is Grinch! Governor elect Tim Walz is already proposing a tax hike! Minnesota has a $2 billion surplus, but Walz and his friends are proposing a tax increase on gasoline. He promised no middle class tax hike, but that is  exactly what a higher gas tax is. It will cost more not only at the pump, but at the store. The cost of shipping will increase, and those costs will be passed on to consumers in higher prices for food, clothes and anything shipped by truck. So who are Walz's backers? So I'm watching the news , when suddenly I see Tim Henderson of AFSCME Council 5 supporting Stillwater Corrections Officers desire for more cameras and staff in the once again reopened industry area at Stillwater MCF! That's funny, in a pathetic way. While Stillwater prison CO's were asking for more staff before, where was AFSCME? Supporting Black Lives Matter  protesting law enforcement instead. When staff complained about the increase in inmate on staff assaults where was AFSCME? Backing the policy of letting inmates out of segregation early for "inmate mental health." For years AFSCME, SEIU and Teamsters have been more concerned with funneling money to Democratic politicians then supporting members. Suddenly the Supreme Court rules that Public Employee's don't have to pay fare share dues and the money spigot starts drying up. A good man dies on the job because the Union ignored member pleas for safe workplace conditions and even more members ...

Yesterday was the funeral of slain Stillwater Prison Corrections Officer Joseph Gomm. The 16 year employee was beat to death by an inmate doing his job. His job, and that of all Corrections Officers, is to protect society from people who have been deemed too dangerous to walk among us. Joseph Gomm, as all CO's at Stillwater Prison are, was a  member of the AFSCME Union. AFSCME's job is to represent the CO's. We know where Joseph Gomm was, w here was AFSCME? Where was AFSCME when Stillwater CO's were complaining about staffing cuts ? AFSCME was writing letters to the House of Representatives protesting enforcement of Immigration laws! Where was AFSCME when the Stillwater CO's were complaining about  violent inmates being released early from segregation ? AFSCME was  busy protesting the nomination of Judge Kavanaugh for the Supreme Court. Where was AFSCME when assaults on Corrections staff were increasing?
